In The Garden Center
Astilbe x rosea or False Spirea are perennials that like shady areas and produce showy flower plumes and striking fern-like foliage. Blooming in midsummer, they prefer consistent soil moisture and grow well at water's edge to about 18" tall. Cut them back in the late fall and divide every 3 to 5 years.
