In The Garden Center
Centaurea montana or Perennial Cornflower prefers sunny areas and blooms all summer long in border fronts. It reaches a height of 1 to 2 feet and spreads up to a foot with electric-blue flowers. It grows well in a variety of garden soils. It tolerates drought but cannot tolerate waterlogged conditions. Remove spent flower stalks to the ground after bloom to enjoy the foliage for the remainder of the growing season. It can be divided in the spring or fall, every 2-3 years.
